I have been on a roll today in my craft room, planning and working on entries for many challenges. Tonight's featured project is my submission for the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #13: the Long and the Short of it.
The goal of this challenge was to create a 4 x 9 card and "embrace the white space". Although this is only my second entry into a CAS-ual Fridays challenge, I'm really enjoying the format of it. There is something to be said for keeping it simple (which is the main focus of their challenges). Without further ado, check out my project:
Cardstock: Couture Cardstock White Felt Cardstock, The Paper Company Orange and Yellow Cardstock
Digi Stamp: Hambo Stamps "Cool Cat" (a freebie that you can check out here)
Cartridge(s): "Wild Card" (for the base of the card)
Stamp(s): Pink by Design's "Furry Friends" (sentiment)
Glitter Glue: Stickles in "Cotton Candy", studio G Glitter Glue in Yellow
ProMarkers (for coloring the digi)
Martha Stewart Scoring Board
Purple Cows Paper Cutter
Also entered in:
Paper Playtime: Challenge 51 - Make any project using digital or stamped images or sentiments with a SUMMER theme!
Scrapbookaholic By Abby: Challenge 10 - Anything Summer!
Scrappin' It by Einat: Summer Cards Contest - Create a card with a summer theme. It can be for any occasion but it has to have a summer feel to it.
I'm extremely proud of how this card turned out. I used my Cricut minimally (to cut the card base) and was able to measure and cut all the other cardstock using the score board and paper cutter. I also tend to have an "issue" with using too much glitter glue on my projects ;) but I love the little bit that I was able to place in the cat's lemonade glass - I think it added a bit more dimension to the project. Overall, I am loving the simplicity of this project and of the CAS-ual Fridays challenges.
Thank you for visiting my site! Happy Crafting!
